I woudn't say there's a problem with any particular faction, but instead it's with the units, such as pikes, arty, and missile. In game multiplayer is a lot different from campaign because you can employ strategy instead of cheesing the AI. Multiplayer is a generally fun but the games can take a whiillleee to set up.It'll be the same multiplayer screen as well but will show red if you can't join that particular match. Ex, you have DeI so you can only play with people with DeI on as well, same goes with vanilla. Mods work by limiting the games you can join depending on what mods you have.I think the best beginner friendly faction is Rome in my opinion, because of their strong infantry that can support while more experienced players can handle other aspects. Not that I know of in terms of factions but the strategy should generally be the same as before.Almost entirely depends on the game, you can have a combo of good and bad teammates, as well as good and bad enemy players, so I'd chalk it up to a match-per-match basis and it's pretty simple once you have the general gist of it down.I bought the game in May but only really started playing it during July so I'd think I'd be in the nearly the same position as you.
